There are a growing number of single-use VR applications being developed as part of a growing library of immersive educational content. The problem with these applications is they need a home. Currently, there are only a small number of dedicated platforms where other educators can allow their learners to sign in and access a number of engaging VR applications We are fortunate to have Kristen Tamm, CEO of Futuclass and Mart Lume, head of Product for Futuclass, on the show to give us more perspective and insight into their exciting VR learning hub. Hello everyone. Welcome to another exciting episode of VR in Education. Understanding what our users are thinking is often difficult in VR. You can watch their movements on a screen but truly knowing and understanding their actions and thinking is not always possible. On today’s show, we want to unpack analytics a bit further. One company that might help take the guesswork out of VR training and learning applications is Cognitive3D. Cognitive3D is a powerful spatial analytics platform that delivers data analytics and insights to anyone building a VR/MR training simulation or research application. We have invited Tony Bevilacqua who is CEO of Cognitive 3D to discuss with us more about his useful tools. To learn more check out https://cognitive3d.com/.

Episode 63- Lost in Translation- Math and Science Conceptualization with VR
Wednesday Mar 10, 2021
Wednesday Mar 10, 2021
Hello everyone. Welcome to another exciting episode of VR in Education. As teachers, we are often charged with helping students make sense of complex ideas. In this situation, we might start with basic facts and blend in more sophisticated ideas and experiences to help form a bigger picture of the learning landscape. In this way, we form schemata that may provide an epiphany or “light” bulb moment for our learners whereby they feel like they have learnt something on a deeper level. Yet, providing this type of learning journey can be difficult, time-consuming and not always possible. Today, on the show we have invited Anurupa Ganguly. She is the founder and CEO of Prisms of Reality. Anurupa graduated from MIT with a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and went on to get her M.Ed from Boston University. She has worn several educational hats over the years: Math teacher, Assistant Director of K-12 Mathematics and Senior Director of Instruction and Professional Learning are just a few of the roles she has played. She is here today to talk about how Prisms of Reality is carving new ground for Math and Science learning. Check out her company at https://www.prismsvr.com/.
